Too tough to handle...

Perhaps this will evolve into a "please help!" thread...

For me it was a real toss-up between Insect Swarm and Ice Storm, but I decided Swarm was the worst.

for me, the hardest to beat is a co-SS user.

My DED sin with a 12% hit bonus off his generic loadout most often loses to slow and only does slightly better against ambush. Yet my energy drain mage alt. with a 0% hit bonus seems to win pretty easily against these same builds. Go figure.

Albeit I might do better now against them now that I respecc'd my SP into shadowmeld, which at least gives me an opener that works without requiring me to hit.

Shadowmeld is good, try it with a shield and make your build a stamina + strength type. even though you your meld didn't proc, you still have a chance to block them out.

Slow is tough to beat. You need a top level Apo, Feint, or PS+resist.

I have 2 starters that I have a very hard time beating and for the most part I never win agenst them..... the 2 are IS and gaze.

I'm a mage that uses TT and FS my lev one starter is Gremlins and I can't beat these 2 the rest I have a chance agenst and it really ticks me off...... but what can I do.

Hey all my first post

My hardest to beat is freeze and TT i can sometime get lucky but man they can screw me!! P.s i have a prettt solid IS and Slow build if anyone wants to practice on me.

I switched from slow to gaze only because HP,TT and IS really pissed me off, now i have 1 Absorb and 1 Resist loadout which in combination with gaze are able to defeat over 90% of the before mentioned openers... Still Apo sins kick the crap out of me

Anything assasin fucks me up. I dread everytime I pull a sin, I really don't have answers for most sin openers!

i really hate from gaze druids but i dont scare =). the right build order only can be owned by a full artifact player

Insect swarm with generous helpings of price's talisman and roots gets me just about everytime unles I resist and or crit every wand hit not voided! *shakes fist* Having to double up on stam really takes away from my killin' stats!

that happens because they fixed the BBC..they do dmg by 40% of theyr str every turn and the damage gets bigger when they resist a magic attack, and this damage is reduced by your resistance. And this last for a number of turns equal to your stamina /30.. voidruned is the best shit to use now with BBC.. I hope that i helped you a little bit in your question Mint_Jelly.

Oh energy drain seems to be doing the business with ice storm for me these days provided that resist is thier highest stat, although for if stam is their highest you can still get freezer burn!

I respecced a couple of days ago and exchanged magus blood and feedback for clarity and shimmer, since then most sins can kiss my ass I wouldn't have expected such a dramatic change from a few simple low path changes. Now the only Opener i mostly lose to in QD is IS, all other ones can die in shame...muahaha

Yeah I miss clarity and shimmer I spec'd away from it for the extra power weapon reduction from battle mage, now I get resisted....

i effing hate DED, especially against cloud1.



thankfully i dont see ED much, but that rapes me too, and my dump stat is resist, but they get it and resist my FS

I'm pretty surprised in seeing 3 votes for SS since the counter is so obvious. Stack dodge and use actions for damage.

My toughest opponents would have to be FS And IS. Finding a balance between resistance and being able to do damage is tough. Also, voiding on the right turn is crucial.

dont bother resisting FS unless using BBC cos it's wasted as FS eats it eventually anyway. focus on out damaging is the way to go and what usually beats me (or stuff like DED that eats my stats)
